Update 1: ESPN & eSPORTS

ESPN Finally Starting To Realize It Can Be ‘The ESPN Of eSports’- Check out the career section of ESPN, yes they need “an eSports Editor“.

Yes, ESPN is the same company whose President last year said 

“It’s not a sport — it’s a competition. Chess is a competition. Checkers is a competition….Mostly, I’m interested in doing real sports.” Chk more details on my previous post.

Update 2: Facebook & MLG

Yea, we know you would have never heard of MLG, but Facebook…u do…right ? Facebook has tied up with Major League Gaming (MLG) for eSports content, so now you know MLG and its worth, by the way it’s an eSports company which has around 10Mn users and blah blah, Google to know more about it 🙂

Update 3: BBC & LOL

Nah….LOL does not mean laugh out loud here, it is “League of Legends” a multiplayer Video game which is played daily by around 27 Mn Gamers across the world and fans worldwide watched 70 million hours of last year’s World Championship (~28 Mn viewers with peak concurrent viewership of 11Mn) .  So where does BBC come in picture, there you go….

The League of Legends World Championship quarter finals will take place at London’s Wembley Arena from Oct 15 to Oct 19, and BBC will livestream all four days across its BBC Three and BBC Sport online network.

Update 4: Turner, WME/IMG Form E-Sports League, With TBS to Air Live Events

On Sept 24, 2015 Turner announced that they have formed a Strategic Partnership with WWE|IMG to create an eSports League. Through the venture, Turner and WME | IMG will deliver competitive gaming events for all platforms including premium live fan experiences, televised coverage airing exclusively on TBS and extensive, high quality live digital event coverage and content extensions. All aspects of the eSports league – including the live event experience – will be jointly managed by Turner Broadcasting and WME | IMG, with Turner Studios providing a state-of-the-art facility specifically created to showcase the live gaming competitions.  Slated to begin in 2016, the televised presentation of the competitive gaming events will feature 10 consecutive weeks of programming twice per year – the most extensive commitment to televised eSports programming to date – airing Friday nights on TBS.
